Accessibility

A website everyone can use.

We design and build this site, so we hold it to the standard we build for our clients. Last tested .

The standard we aim for

We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at level AA across fikadesigns.co.uk.

That covers colour contrast, text you can resize, a clear heading structure on every page, descriptions for meaningful images, labelled form fields, and pages you can use with a keyboard or a screen reader.

What we have done

Every pair of text and background colours on the site is checked against the AA contrast ratio. Text on our red is kept large, because red is the hardest colour to read small.

  • Each page has one main heading and a logical outline beneath it.
  • Pictures of our work are described in their alt text; purely decorative images are hidden from screen readers.
  • Every form field has a visible label, and errors are announced, not just coloured.
  • Animation is kept to fades and gentle movement, and switches off if your device is set to reduce motion.
  • The site works without JavaScript for reading, and the enquiry form still sends.

When we tested on 3 October 2026, the homepage and our web design page scored 100 for accessibility in Google Lighthouse on a mobile connection.

What we know needs work

Some case studies show screenshots of the websites we have built. The words inside those pictures are not readable by a screen reader; each one has a description instead, and the live site is linked where it can be.

Automated tests do not catch everything. If something on the site gets in your way, we would rather hear about it than guess.
